Hello,my name is Leah, and this page is for the purposes of showing the work I have been doing in my reading group. At the moment I am reading the book- Dare to Dream, Life as One Direction.
I had to choose an activity from the 'Reading Activity Grid' to do about my book. I chose to do the activity; 'Big Dird'. In Big Dird you have to resond to questions about one of the characters in your book. I chose Harry Styles. I have nearly finished so I will be displaying my finished product on this wiki page soon!
Audio boo is a website where you can upload audio files to make a "talking picture" It is a bit like Fotobabble.
This Audio boo is from a paragraph in "Dare to Dream-life as One Direction" by One Direction- "I guess one of the weirdest things I can tell you about my childhood is that I only have one kidney because I was born effectively dead. Weird, I know. The doctors couldn't get any reaction from me, so I had to be brought round, and althought it seemed like I was okay, there were underlying problems."- Liam Payne. LEARNING INTENTION: Reading aloud for an audience, using clarity,volume, fluency and expression.
REFLECTION: How effective was your tool? Audio Boo was very effective because it was easy to use and it didn't take long to make one. It worked very well and it sounded good.
How has this activity helped you think about and improve your oral reading? It helped me because I had to work on the things that I needed help with, like reading slower and talking louder when reading.
What difficulties did you have? I had difficulties trying to find a quiet spot so I could record without having all the backround noise around me. I also had difficulties uploading the file to Audio Boo, but I figured out how to by emailing the file to myself.
Are there any reading skills you still need to work on? I think I still need work on reading a bit louder, so everyone can hear me.

This task I did with Ruby and Kiera. We made a quiz about the picture story book 'The Last Vikimg'.We did three questions each, and created a multiple choice answer to each of the questions. What did you enjoy most about this task? I enjoyed working with my friends and making the quiz on the computer.
What was your biggest challenge?
Thinking about the questions and answers to put into our quiz.
